1. Data We Collect

• Account data: name, username, email, phone (if provided), date of birth (for age verification), and password (hashed — never readable by us).
• Your content: posts, comments, stories, messages, and photos/videos you upload.
• Usage & device data: device type, OS, IP address, and a device identifier for security and fraud prevention.
• Optional data: location (when enabled for features like marketplaces, when you share your location in a chat, or in Nearby Friends), contacts (only with your permission).
• Nearby Friends — specifics: this feature is off by default and only runs during a session you start yourself, which expires on its own. We do not keep your coordinates: your position is snapped to an approximate area (about 222 m) and stored as a single row that is overwritten, never accumulated, and deleted when the session ends or you stop it — so no location history exists. Only people you mutually follow who have also turned the feature on can see you, and they see only that you are in the area: no distance in metres, no bearing, no point on a map. We never read your location while the app is closed. You can also hide yourself from a specific person without them knowing.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Operate the app and its features (posting, messaging, calls, marketplaces).
• Verify identity and age, protect accounts, and prevent abuse and fraud.
• Notify you of interactions, improve the experience, and provide support.
• Moderate content and enforce community standards (see "Safety & Moderation").

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only: (a) with trusted service providers that operate the app (email, storage, video calls) under confidentiality obligations; (b) when legally required; (c) content you post publicly is visible to other users per your privacy settings.

4. Safety & Content Moderation

We apply objectionable-content filtering plus reporting and blocking tools. We reserve the right to review and remove violating content and suspend violating accounts. Passwords are stored hashed (bcrypt) and data is transmitted over HTTPS.

5. Children

The app is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. We verify age at sign-up and will delete any account found to belong to an under-age child.

6. Your Rights

• Access & edit: via account settings.
• Delete account: you can permanently delete your account and all its data from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), or by contacting us. Full details — what is deleted and what remains — on the Delete account & data page.
• Object/withdraw: you may withdraw consent by ceasing use and deleting your account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. On deletion, your personal data is permanently removed within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required or needed for security.

“No-limits” mode: a message disappears from the chat on both sides the moment it is read, and a call leaves no visible log once it ends. We nevertheless keep a sealed copy of that mode's messages and calls on our servers for a limited period (30 days by default), after which it is permanently deleted. No staff member can read that content; it is disclosed only under a judicial order, with the approval of two different administrators, and every access to it is recorded immutably. This mode is not available to minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will notify you of material changes in-app.
